How does the DC compare to a LP Standard SC?

Also, is the fact that there is only a single set of volume & tone knobs a problem?

single vs double cutaway

Hi, I have a 71 LP Custom, and a 98 LP DC Standard. The DC is much lighter due to the tone chambers within the body. The amount of sustain is very close to the amount I get from the Custom with it's totally solid body. Having only one tone and vol control make it a very easy guitar to use, esp since I usually only use one p/u at a time. Except for the noisy electronics in the DC, which I'm gradually upgrading, I'm pretty happy with the guitar.
