• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I made a looong solo with my Les Paul -61

We recorded in the studio: two drummers, two guitarists. The other guitarist started with sitar and made the background. I played my old Les Paul-SG 1961 through my old Blues Deville - an Indian inspired solo that was 10 minutes long. :(

Use earphones and high volume: what says you?

Thanks. :)
Well, about the tone: I only use the original neck PAF-pickup, which I believe has a short Alnico V magnet. (The magnet in the bridge pickup is longer and I believe that is a Alnico II magnet). I use a Boss OD3 and a Boss CH1. The Blues Deville is the 212 version, and is slightly modded with NOS RCA 6L6 tubes (and a bias-circuit is installed to make that possible - the original Blues Devilles had no bias-controls).
