Admins, if possible, please change format of posting step. It's very confusing,

Hello everyone, today I received my gibson les paul 58 reissue VOS washed cherry sunburst.
I would ask them
1) If you could judge what I had asked about the rust details of the bridge screw and the pickguard holder, if you see them as normal as parts of the VOS finish.
2) On the other hand, I have noticed some scratches, which I have highlighted with a white circle. I confess that it caused me some annoyance because it is a new guitar and from this range....I don't know if it is normal, but it has left me somewhat distressed.
Thank you
Ramon

The truth is that I am not satisfied with the VOS finishes, but rather that it arrived with scratches. On a guitar of this price it is unacceptable. I return it.

Jeez. You haven't said a word about how the guitar plays and sounds. Instead you are fixated on a couple of trivial issues that could be easily cleaned up. You need to decide what is more important. Good luck finding one that meets ALL of your expectations.

There are players, and there are stamp collectors.
I guess there are players who are also stamp collectors...but not so many.

Thes cratches are not normal. That is unfortunate.

But I’ll reiterate, the rust on the parts is absolutely normal. VOS metal parts treatment has varied over the years. The rust is normal and common, but not necessarily ubiquitous. It just depends on what they grab outta the parts bin. Dont’t sweat that (the rust), but the scratches would bother me on a new guitar.

We want some rust...but not too much.
Some aging...but not too much.
Finish should look old, as though the guitar has been owned...but not played...or ever taken out of the case.
Or maybe played...a little...by someone who wore cotton gloves.
Back in ancient times when we went to the music store to buy our guitars, they had been hanging on the wall...sometimes for months.
People played them.
We understood that they weren't wedding cakes that were supposed to embody some ideal of perfection.
We knew that if they weren't worn, dinged or scratched, we were sure to do that pretty quickly because we would take it out of the case...and PLAY it.

I'd return it too if it were mine but for different reasons. For me the pickups and the tailpiece are too shiny. The grainy photo below I used to stare at for hours when I was a kid because of that Les Paul. When Gibson started putting pickup covers on their custom authentic then later VOS that looked like that neck pickup I started buying them. I'm seeing to much shine on hardware lately even on ML aged ones. The shine is even a turn off for me on a few original bursts that haven't turned dull.

Send it back. Wait for the right one, don't have any reservations. You'll be happier in the end.

That guitar looks amazing! Dark fretboard, nice burst, understated plaintop...
I'd definitely keep it if it sounds and plays well.
If you intend to play it just a little, don't worry about the small scratches, there will be more and that's OK

If I pay 5000 euros, the guitar has to arrive in perfect 10 conditions, no even one scratch.
Who pay for something has the right to decide what he deserves.
By the way, it's not like Gibson was giving it away.

Those scratches would likely buff. The one from the guard screw might need a little more consideration.

Maybe consider a PRS ...with a poly finish. Gibson's are going to have minor quirks. And the moment you play it, you'll probably leave a mark somewhere.

Do you actually play guitar or do you just sit there and look at it?

You have exceedingly unrealistic expectations. The imperfections you are obsessing over are easily fixed as others have said. There is no such thing as "perfection" in a guitar made by human hands, regardless of the price. Once you start playing the guitar it will no longer be "perfect". I wish you luck in your quest. You're gonna need it.

The first scratch (or dent, etc) on a new guitar is always the worst. But it's gonna happen. After that you can carry on and not worry about treating it with kid gloves.

Just consider it pre-scratched for you.
