• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I posted a track for the inauguration day: No Arguments Valid

My point here is not to be political in its proper sense, but to describe a somewhat new social phenomena.

The idea with the title was originally that the two guitars does not play together, rather they seems to argue aggressively from totally different positions.

It is often said that today society has come to a "post-truth" stage. With the meaning that earlier it was necessary in a debate that your arguments had at least some contact with true facts. Today instead your personal opinion is counted as having the same value as facts.

In the long run it means that no arguments are valid, one part in a debate have a standpoint built on opinion and the other have one based on research findings, and since the positions are so different no one can win. The "post-truth" stage therefore can be seen as a problem for the time to come.
