• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi, new to the forum and truth be told I play an SG and a tele but I have a potentially FrankenPaul that I have had no success in identifying.

I am pretty sure this guitar is worthless and I am hoping it is because it is my childhood guitar I learned on and it used to sound pretty good. But Id like to make sure Im not destroying anything before I upgrade the electronics to top of the line so I can play this guitar again.

I got this guitar around 1985 from a friend whose entire family were a partrige family. What may complicate things is my friends dad had a bunch of les pauls from the 50s and 60s as well as Gibson and Fender bass guitars from the same era. They still have that fortune of equipment and my friend still plays them onstage as he always has. And yeah, he knows what they are worth. His dad was notorious for mixing and matching parts to create guitars that he liked to play. My guitar is believed to be a 70s epiphone les paul body with an unidentified neck and some seriously old tuners. Who knows about the electronics but they look cheap to me. My friends dad has been playing professionally since the 50s.

I know the tuners are not original to the neck as there are other tuner holes. The neck may or may not be original. Here are the pics. Thanks in advance.

Edit: When i try to upload pictures it says they are too large for server. They are about 2.2mb each. Any ideas?

I managed to upload photos here
