• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

If you could do anything.....

for a living, what would it be?

I think the musicians like Jimmy Vivino, Kevin Eubanks, Sid McGinnis, Felicia Collins, et al, playing the best "house gigs" going have the ultimite jobs. They only have to hit the road when they want, get to play with some of the greats, get tons of playing time between rehearsals and shows, and get to live in happening cities. They tape their shows early enough that they can have side gigs going, and are well known enough that they can sit in with just about anyone they want in the clubs.

Damn, I'm jealous!! I want to be a late night talk show guitarist! :band

What's your "dream job"?

Not very exciting, but content...

I guess I have my dream job...the only thing better would be not working "on the clock" or being responsible to an employer at all (you know...like a lottery winner ;-).

When I retire (in 10 years--I hope), I want to play 3 or 4 nights per week locally, in small clubs--for the door $ only. I guess that is my "dream job";)

The lottery thing for sure. So I could travel, see things, and support the very few I care about. But I don't think that counts here because getting something for nothing is nearly the opposite of "doing something."

For me it is easy- baseball. I would prefer to be a player, but a coach of some sort would satisfy me, as well. Just to be around would be an absolute blast. I don't know if I would want to work in an office for a team, but I suppose it would be better than working for an office that WASN'T baseball related.

I would love to be in a rock band that would allow me to play a wide range of music from lite rock to heavier stuff. Not the heaviest, but heavier than lite. To be in the biggest band of all-time would be a pain in the ass, but I think I could give it a try.

Well, porn star kind of goes without saying. Hell, I'd work pretty cheap.

As I'm not....equipped....for pornography, I wouldn't mind running a bed and breakfast some place like Nantucket.

Or really, just about ANY JOB on Nantucket. It's my favorite spot on earth, and I'd do just about any job that pays enough to afford actually living there.

Ideally, that would be working as a porn actor on Nantucket!

Well, I set out to become a painter, with the intention of teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in fine art.

Somewhere along the line, I got sidetracked by needing enough money to pay a mortgage and put a kid through college...! LOL!

So, while I'm working away on making my millions (LOL!) in technolgy marketing, I'm always thinking about the point in my life at which I can semi-retire, and return to painting -- and, of course, playing music nights and weekends...!

LP Gothic Dude,

That's about the only job I can imagine that would be more frustrating than my current occupation!

Came close to having a dream job in my twenties. A girls college needed a third shift maintenance guy for the dorms!

Lets see, then there was the opportunity to drive a (Caddilac) ambulance for a hospital when I was in high school. Think "Animal House", "Mother Juggs and Speed", "Ghost Busters" and "Up In Smoke" all rolled into one.

Seriously though, the fantasy of running a charter boat in the South Pacific somewhere still has it's charms.

Either that or a head butler on a vast English estate. Or stable boy if the heiress is hot!
