• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

If you could only have one amp one guitar and no pedals. What is it?

It’s refreshing to see that even though it’s a Les Paul forum, a fair few are going Fender or other.
As much as I'm into my LP, a Strat is just that much more versitile, being able to play any style. Not saying that a Les Paul can't do all of it either, but adding the trem to the Strat puts it to another realm.
If I was to choose one of my own guitars, though, I'd probably go with my Schecter Custom Shop. Strat style, with a HB in the bridge and a coil tap on that, that will add that second coil to any switch setting. (I think that's what it does - I bought it used with no documentation, and I'm never been able to find anything.)
Either that or my LP after adding coil taps to the pickups.

Neil Young's Old Black into The Edge's "anthem" Vox AC-30.

An ES-335 and a Mesa Boogie Mark II C+ combo with a 15" EVM, graphic EQ, reverb and simulclass. I recently bought a Mesa as described and the amp can do any tone you want without compromise. The only problem is you have to lift it.

Let's see a picture of that amp!

(I play my '59 ES345 through a MKIII - whoa momma! ... Black Widow.)

My '63 ES-335 into my '63 Alamo TwinTen, or my '74 SFSR.

I gigged for years with just an Epiphone Olympic into a SFPR w/JBL K-120.

I'd pick my 2004 flying V over my 2017 HP ONLY because the 2004 is ugly and noone else but me could love her.

And I have a modified blues jr, I, mostly cuz it's ugly and noone else could love her, and it has 2, 12" Celestions.

My R9 and my SV20C. First amp I've ever owned that allowed me to take all my pedals off my pedalboard.

(I'm hoping the attenuator doesn't count).

WTF!

What kinda weird hellish world are you creating here?

Why not ask 'which nut do you want removed?'

'What finger can you do without?'

'Hookers OR blow?'

'Ginger or Maryann?'

Damn...I don't want to live there. These guys...I swear...
This wins the internet LOL

Doesn't have to be a Gibson.

For me its a '54 GT and a 5e3.

Beat that y'all!
R4 and a vintage Tweed Pro, the slight more headroom, and the 15 just do it for me! That is one amp I wished I owned. I write a lot of songs. and when it's too late to record with a guitar amp, I have an amp model in Amplitube based around the tweed Pro, and if I have to use a model that is always my first choice. The voice always fits into my songs. And recently forum member Professor Twang built a tweed Pro that absolutely kills. He owns two 50's 5E3s, which both sound glorious, but I would take the Pro that he build over both of those, because as I said, it just kills.

Easy question. P90 Les Paul with a Bigsby and a 50 watt Marshall MK II half stack. 1974 model. That pair has been in my house for at least 35 years man
