What amp? Schematic? pictures of the circuit? Details as to what disappoints you? Experience with using tube amps….type of amps, type of music, expectations for this build compared to experience with previous amps?
without all of that, I would suggest leaving it just like it is.

Just put the best NOS tubes you can possibly find in there and it will sound great.
