• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Well maybe not that interesting. but has the more squared edges, and
has the 4 digit serial number (and small frets). All original. Chip out of
the side of the peghead by the "D" tuner. Some fade, but not too bad.
Really loud, as the strings are very close to the P90. Anyway my friend
wants it. No case of any kind. what's a fair price for both of us?
(and NO you can't buy it - the guitar is already spoken for, i'm either
keeping it or he gets it, there's no inbetween.)

Nice guitar.

I've been watching the really clean JRs going over $6K lately.

Over 6, or over 16? I'd say a nice price for your friend for a '58 Jr in this condition is around 10k. Retail would probably be around 14k I think.

Some of us saw that stupid clean '59 go for $16k on e-bay, but that was an exception, IMO. Check out completed auctions on e-bay, & better yet, go to a few vintage guitar websites. You'll quickly find out what the current asking price is. But if this guy is your friend, ya better do him better than any store's Jr.! If I had one, & was going to sell it to a good friend, I might go $1000.00 less than current value. He's your friend & ultamatly it's your call.:salude
By the way, do ya need any more good friends?:2cool

Clay, there was a thread a while back [more than a year] on the 4 digit Juniors, and one interesting thing was the proximity of the pot codes. Record yours, and maybe you [or someone with the time] will revive that old thread. They appear to be very late 58 or very early 59. :)

My thoughts on price are ...under $10K, but getting closer all the time. :)
