• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

is the Cort CR250 similar sound wise to a Gibson Historic Murphy aged 59 reissue ?

so in other words is the Cort cr250 extremely similar in tone when played thru a simple tube amp such as a tweed champ with no effects added ?

(I am only interested in how it compares to a 2013 or later historic with custombuckers and hide glue )

one other comparison is how it stacks up against an Eastman 59 V if anyone has done a shootout

It would be nice if it sounded the same...especially since it's probably a $250 guitar!

...being a Les Paul copy, it is bound to have a similar sound.

How close, better or worse? Cat's Ass / Rat's Ass

I never buy new guitars so I don't think of the price in those terms.
If I bought one, it would probably be $250.
Cort seems to be upping their game.
I recently hung out with a Berklee grad, and when he opened his case I was surprised to see a 335-style Cort.
It wasn't set up anywhere near to my liking, but it played and sounded quite nice.
