• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Is this a old PAF?

I would put it at a 1965 Patent number PU, just before they went to the the T-Top. short magnet, poly-wire.

It appears to have the orange poly rather than purple enamel wire, making it a patent number non t-top pickup. You could verify this by looking at the lead wires on the bobbins, a PAF will have two black ones, the later PAT # will have one white and one black. 1965 would be my guess also. Still a very valuable pickup.

That coil wire rules out a PAF. So need to go crazy researching. The bobbins have no T-tops so it's between PAF and T-Top as already posted.

Now you're sure. If someone tells you otherwise, they are lying or don't know their stuff.
