• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Here we are again at year end. We’ve had this subject come up several times in the past. Please give your own personal pick for (as of year-end 2020) the most undervalued Gibson model, and why.

This could be something super common. Or it could be something more obscure.

For the sake of definitions, let’s include anything made by Gibson and/or in the Gibson factory.
The more detail supporting your pick, the better. :dude:

If you want a 2 pickup P90 screamer but the wrap tail of an SG Special won't intonate for you and the price of a 50's or late 60's gold top will break your budget, there is only one choice and I think its the most undervalued Gibson made guitar there is. It is the only P90 Gibson with an ABR-1 made between 1960 and 1968. Epiphone Wilshire. You can still find them for $5000-$7000 easily. I love a 68 goldtop but a Wilshire is a lot lighter on your shoulder and on your wallet. The reissue made by Gibson is also excellent (not the cheap one-the one made in the early 2000's by the Custom Shop). But that's gotten kind of pricey. I see them around $3000 pretty frequently.

Early Coronets are great and you can find them for half as much if you only need one pickup.
