Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Shes a 2004 R9, i found locally, i was active on here for a while in my teens when i got my first gibson which was a Les Paul Classic(profile pic) right from here on the classified section. I faded in and out didnt really post much but did alot of looking, This R9 has got the les paul fire burning once again. i look foward to combing back thru all the post from 2004 to figure out the actually specs of this beast.
it got plugged into my 1965 fender bandmaster last night as by all accounts this guitar is a MONSTER. sounds HUGE and clear. thanks for all the love guys
Congratulations! I just got my first R9 a couple weeks ago, also after years of dreaming about it. It is one of the few things I have acquired where reality has proven greater than my expectations. I hope you are as inspired by yours. Cheers!
That's a great top!
Have the tuners been replaced? They have the hex nut and a very wide bushing.
Has the truss rod cover been replaced? It looks like it has a narrow bevel/edge and not the usual wide (white) outline.
I am not sure. but i think i have to go back through some of the paper work that came with the guitar cuz it does have its original case but its brown not black like a 2004 should be.
Hmmm....
Are you able to show us the back of the headstock?
If not, does it say Made In USA? Is the serial number eight digits long and stamped into the wood or is it five or six printed in ink?
