• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Dave just sent me this pic. Looking forward to the final product. Originally a 2009 R9 Darkburst....Soon to be a 2009 aged lemonburst... I'm going for the Mike McCready Burst but not nearly as beat the hell up but more like a Goldie or Beast type of aging...maybe a tinge more then those. One day, I'll be introduced to her... bought her from the dealer and had it sent straight to DJ for full makeover package with Braz Board...:dude:

Small world. I'm on a project similar to yours with Dave at this moment. Aged lemon burst is where I'm at also. Yours looks truly fantastic! Cheers........

When I saw those jars upside-down, I first thought "Why the hell did Dave attach the jars to the shelf through the glass?" instead of the usual redneck fashion of attaching the lid. Then I saw the hanging hook and ceiling bar at the other end of the pic. :rolleyes :doh Guitar looks great!

I thought he wasn't doing any Historic makeovers anymore ... or exclusively for Mark?

You bought it new in 2009 and still haven't seen it in person?

I know...a bit different than how I usually do things but this particular R9, in terms of price, was too good to pass up. I am not a dark-burst guy at all so I took it as an opportunity to make a project out of this guitar and do something that I normally wouldn't do on most guitars that I target for purchase. :peace2

Looks good! The waiting is the hardest part....

Pretty sure I took that pic of Mike at a PJ show a few years ago... glad it helped!
