• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Here's the Feb '74 Guitar Player article, I noticed the LP he's holding on the cover has the mid fifties style barrel or hat box knobs

You know, that article was more influential than I remembered. Got barrel knobs for my 68 because they looked cool as hell on a double white 59 that used to show up in GP. The comment about Duane/Dickey & the open cabs made me saw open my knock off 4-12 cab in about '74 (worked great too!) Had a MM 2-10 65 until recently......was a good time to be a musician....;-)

Yeah, I always looked forward to my Guitar Player magazines coming in the mail when I was young. I read every one from cover to cover, I'm glad I stayed focused on guitars and guitar mags, otherwise I'd be in prison right now, my guitar obsession was the only thing that kept me from getting in some real serious crap.

His real name is John. Peter Wolf used to call him Jerome as a joke, and it kinda, sorta stuck.

This is officially the most confusing thread I ever read.
