• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Coming from the man who wanted to convert his '68GT because it didn't have humbuckers, there's an awful lot of P90 love in the trailer / Press Kit of the upcoming Beth Hart / JB live DVD:

Apart from this pristine looking '52, there's a cherry DC Junior and a TV Special featured.

Since the boundaries of marriage have been pushed, I'm marrying my P90's. Yes, they're that good to me.

The teaser looks quite interesting. I really like the music that these two put together. Thanks for sharing.

I'm happy to see JB involved in project after project. I remember when I first heard of him, really dug his records and started scouring the net for videos and such, to now have available tons of high quality ear candy and vintage guitar eye candy is a real treat as a fan of both Joe and golden era Gibsons.

I do anticipate however a return to the Rockpalast DVD era small intimate type band format at some point though.

Interesting, I'm the other way. Joe's music didn't move me at all at first…….but it's growing on me. That's no in small part due to him seemingly being a nice guy. There's no denying he's really into what he does, and that shows.

I get the impression that people paying to see his shows get their money's worth, and more.

Good luck to the guy, it's very hard to carry a band as the "main draw".

Maybe that's why he's doing the Rock Candy Funk Party concept; that way, it's the band that's the focus, not the solo player. Notice how they were on Conan the other night, and his name wasn't even spelled out or recognized.

I was blown away from the first note I heard from Joe. Without a doubt, he's one of the nicest and most unassuming artists I've had the pleasure of meeting. A great fellow having a great time doing what he loves, and doing it his way, with fantastic style. And, with exquisite taste in the guitars he plays and collects. Shine On, Joe!!!!

I saw that Joe posted a pic of a certain black Standard on his facebook page. Latest purchase?

... and his latest P-90 acquisition, as authenticated by Ganzler, Inc. seems to be a '55 GT.

Last year, at his gig in Sacramento, CA, someone walked in with a '54 GT in much better condition than this. I am surprised Joe didn't make a more aggressive offer on that '54. At the time, I just interpreted it as a lack of interest in P-90 guitars.

Joe has got four dates in Canada, from May20-24. That should be the biggest thrill of the year, up north.

This 55 is much better than the 54 I saw last year. It's 8.5 pounds, screams, great neck and was cheaper. :ganz

PS I've basically discovered the greatness of P-90 guitars recently. Took me a lifetime but better late than never.

It's like the World Wildlife Foundation. Save these wrap tails and trapeze from becoming conversions! They sound better stock!

Go the P90's - I'm surprised at how PAF'y my '56 LP Special sounds sometimes. And the difference between say a '53 P90 and a '56 P90 ....and a '61 P90 is significant. It's like having many options within one variant of pickup.
Love 'em.

Joe, can I ask, to you what does "a great neck" mean? I'm finding my views on necks changing over time...well, I'm becoming more open to different profiles.

Joe, I very much appreciate you saying this here on the LPF. Muchas gracias:salude
And to add some "gravitas" and just for the heck of it here are some pics of my favorite '52 Goldtop for every P-90 lover out there.:salude

+1 :salude

IMHO, wrap tail LPs are one of the best values in the vintage LP market.

Congratulations!

The construction of the wrap tail brings out the best of tones in Les Paul, me thinks.

P90s are the best pickups in the world, no doubt about it. But the hum...

Can't wait to get a humbuckered 54 in addition to my P90.
