• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Haven't listened to much JoeB. before now but I like it. Do you guy's hear some Eric Johnson in there? Maybe some Rory too…..?

There was a thread awhile back where Joe mentioned Eric Johnson as a big influence, stating "I wish I could play like him on his worst day". I always liked that comment, one of my favorites on this forum.

I've never hit a clam before and have never got caught up in the moment of performing as entertainment and I can play all styles great... I'm awesome ! LOL !! He's a rock player damn it ! It would be cool to see some "blues" players swimming in his pool !

Speaking of Johnson, they both have that clean articulation of notes that project forcefully. Thats one of things I like best about Joe. Playing loudly with grit in the tone and still be articulate is. not. easy.

I was willing to accept the fact that you felt you had defined crossroads. I myself play a killer stoneblue.

My more important question, Why did it sound like you guys were playing in Bflat?

There was a slight tuner app discrepancy that caused several of us to be in F rather that standard A-440. :peace2

So B flat was the answer.

Actually, Paul Reed Smith and I were tuned to F because of the Strobe Tuner app on my phone being up a half step(no one had a friggin' regular tuner!). Joe and the bass player were in E. Thus, when we played it, Joe(and the bass player) had to play in the Bb position while we were in A.
I thought Joe and the bass player handled it quite nicely.:jim

I use the same blues pattern and put in my own lyrics..you can use it if you want

"Bottle of Whiskey"

'Looking for my bottle of whiskey...
'Looking for my bottle of wine..
'Looking for my bottle of whiskey...
'Looking for my bottle of wine..

"Looking for my girlfriend is just a waste of time..'

'Trying to find my whiskey...'
'Trying to find my bottle of wine..'
'Trying to find my whiskey...'
'Trying to find my bottle of wine..'

'Trying to find my girlfriend is just a waste of time..'

'Found my bottle of whiskey...'
'Found my bottle of wine..
'Found my bottle of whiskey...'
'Found my bottle of wine..
'Trying to find my girlfriend is just a waste of time...

Was it "Burst Action" or "Historic Action", goin' down?

Those were bursts. Mine even had the scratchy volume pot that actually decreased the volume when I cranked it from 7 to 10. Nothing like no practice, plus playing a guitar and an amp that you've never played through!:bug
But hell...it's just rock n' roll...right?:peace2
