I haven't owned any Historic for about 2 years now, and have been skeptical about all the praises showered upon the '07s. But, several close friends who own real bursts and other vintage pieces won't shut up about their '07 R9s!
So, I've been looking around for about a month for one that would catch my eye. Well, one finally did the other day at Mark's! The fact that Mark couldn't stop playing it for nearly an hour told me whole lot about how cool of a player it must be, so I had to pull the trigger on it. Since it's highly unlikely I'll take better pictures than Mark did, here are Mark's pictures of it with his consent. I love how the figures on the top with that iced-tea burst finish and the fingerboard with those inlays have the '50s burst vibe to them! I should be getting it next week. Enjoy the pics!! :salude

That thing is freakin' gorgeous!:wail

If Mark says it wails, that is good enough for me. I REALLY do think there's something special about 07's. I can't wait for a tone report!:2cool

Congrats. That one gave me instant GAS when Mark posted the pictures this week. And what a write-up too!

Don: Killer score! I was eyeing that one, too. Definitely let us know how she compares to the previous year's offerings. I'm still in the skeptical crowd that says a good Historic + few upgrades + a good set up = a killer Historic regardless of year but let us know what you think. Clint

That is a beauty Don - good luck and happy playing...that Ice Tea color added with a fantastic looking top and with tremendous playability make it a Killer Guitar. I had my eyes on this one...you were quicker on the draw. :dude: :headbange
