I traded some equipment that I no longer use to order/purchase the MV50 from Guitar Center. (I know that I didn't get fair market value) I am curious about the Nu Tube technology and sound of the Vox MV50 amp head.

I am curious as to how my tube based pedals drive the Korg Nu Tube into distortion and how it will sound. I bought the Clean model because I prefer a blackface clean as a basis for running my pedals. What I have heard and the reviews of this amp, I'm hoping I am pleased. We'll see.

I just received my Vox MV50 Clean amp head. I plugged it in and was blown away. Huge amount of headroom from such a tiny amp. I plugged in an OD pedal and it sounded like I was driving a 12AX7 into distortion. It takes pedals very well. I may have to buy me another one for my back room.

Sounds like a tube amp to me when you drive the Nu Tube with an OD pedal. I have a Digitech RP5 that I had sitting around for years and I decided to see what it would sound like with this amp. Pristine effects into a pristine clean amp. I set up all of the user presets with the onboard OD normally off so that I could switch the overdrive like a 2 channel amp. OD on the RP5 is okay. I will be using an external OD, probably a tube pedal.

This amp is loud and the Nu Tube really does act like a tube amp. i may have to buy another MV50 Clean to mount as a dedicated pedalboard amp.
