My first (and will probably be my only) ML. Was wanting and shopping for an R4, not necessarily a ML, but spotted this one in British Racing Green and had to snag it, as green is my color. Wish me luck fellas, hopefully it doesn't flake and shed it's skin all over me like my pet Ball Python LOL

🟩🏎️🇬🇧🟩 Fabulous color and dark board, looks great! 🟩🏎️🇬🇧🟩

What ML level is that, and can you provide some pics of the back and neck?

Gibson states the finish formulation which created a lack of adhesion and large-scale flaking has been resolved.

[Just remember, Tom is very clear accelerated ML aging remains by-design and will proceed faster than the nitrocellulose lacquers as utilized on vintage guitars, or VOS for that matter.]

Such a beauty... Congrats and good luck!

It's the regular "Heavy" level aging. Here's a couple back pics. The only thing I'm not super crazy about is the chipping around the rear cavity plates, but I don't have it in-hand yet, so maybe in person it won't be something that bothers me:

The back looks good. If anything the medallion not having any wear seems out of place. But it's on the back so no worries.

That metallic BRG color rocks!

Is that gray primer? Never noticed before, usually we see wood. Looks good!

Aside from this being a depature of sorts, was this ever remotely historically accurate?

I am so used to seeing white under Fender, and darkened worn mahogany under Gibson, I've never really considered the matter.

Curious as well about the grey. All aged Gibson's I have seen even solid colors usually show wood. Was it added in after?
I'm thinking maybe what we're seeing is the wood, but with shoe polish, or whatever they use to make the wood look old and dirty, rubbed all over it? I can't really tell

That’s badass. Years ago I played a Custom Shop Historic LPC in a really dark green. Jury was out as to really green or yellowed lacquer on black. In any case it was striking.

Looks great, congrats - I’ve handled hundreds of ML guitars and never seen one with the infamous flaking issues just fyi ! Love the heavy aging treatment and the colour.
