Fabulous color and dark board, looks great!
What ML level is that, and can you provide some pics of the back and neck?
Gibson states the finish formulation which created a lack of adhesion and large-scale flaking has been resolved.
[Just remember, Tom is very clear accelerated ML aging remains by-design and will proceed faster than the nitrocellulose lacquers as utilized on vintage guitars, or VOS for that matter.]
Such a beauty... Congrats and good luck!
Yeah, it's a metallic paint, so under the right light and looking close up at it the tiny metallic glitter will be visible. I can see it some of the close-up shotsVery cool. It's there some metallic in that finish?
It's the regular "Heavy" level aging. Here's a couple back pics. The only thing I'm not super crazy about is the chipping around the rear cavity plates, but I don't have it in-hand yet, so maybe in person it won't be something that bothers me:

I'm going to swap out the medallion for the plastic cover. That will also shave off about 1oz in weight LOLThe back looks good. If anything the medallion not having any wear seems out of place. But it's on the back so no worries.
I'm thinking maybe what we're seeing is the wood, but with shoe polish, or whatever they use to make the wood look old and dirty, rubbed all over it? I can't really tellCurious as well about the grey. All aged Gibson's I have seen even solid colors usually show wood. Was it added in after?
Oh my, that's a nice one!My first (and will probably be my only) ML. Was wanting and shopping for an R4, not necessarily a ML, but spotted this one in British Racing Green and had to snag it, as green is my color. Wish me luck fellas, hopefully it doesn't flake and shed it's skin all over me like my pet Ball Python LOL
