• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Just recieved my 04 R7 rant

I've played the hell out of it over the last 2 days. I'm still trying to figure out if it's "The One" It 's 8.6lb and very acoustic unplugged, loud, airy and bright is how best to describe it, almost to airy and bright if that's possible. I just can't dig these burstbuckers though. I know some like em and some don't but thier going and not soon enough. I've got a set of fillmores on the way which can't come quick enough. I hope thier gonna turn this into a love affair because for now were just friends. I'm also on the list for a pair of timbuckers, who knows when that will be.

I own an 03 historic SG which I installed a set of Jim's crossroads and ever since, I can't play that guitar without a 5mile wide smile on my face. She just sings like a canary so sweet and mellow yet she'll bite your face off if you let her. I didn't feel this same way with the 57's. So I'm hoping for the best. Most of my playing is done through a 71 Marshall 50 watt with an early 70's greenback cabinet. Not much into effects, just a hotplate and a crispy cream treble booster.

I'm sure after the fillmores, she'll be your number one. The weight certainly seems right !! Sounds like a sweet axe.

Does everyone get on Tim's list? His list must be huge! It seems status quo around here anymore. I wonder what's longer? The list of people waiting for Timbuckers or the list of those not on his list? I feel I need to be on the list regardless of whether I'd use them or not, LOL! ;);) ;)

Yeah, I know what you mean about the list, I figured I throw my name in the hat and try to forget about them for awhile. It will be a nice surprise when I get the call.
