• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi

A colleague from another forum has asked me to post this question.

He has a Mick Ronson replica purchased from Guitar Hanger. It has a sanded front which he is becoming a bit 'dirty' with normal usage. He likes the new Maple look - how can he keep it looking this way and is there a coating that will not dis-colour over time.

Any ideas guys

Please don't reply about prefering the aged look. It's how he likes it.

thanx

Wow - zero response. I thought at least there would be a few who could chip in on this.

He can stash it a case, keep it under his bed and never play it. Then it will never age.

The Virtuoso polish claims to have a UV blocker in it which they claim prevents fading. It's a real fine polish, but I haven't used it on my sunbursts yet specifically because I still want them to fade more. It worked wonders on my Custom, removing the oxidation haze, and made a 30 year guitar look nearly new again.
