One clean, Les Paul for a 30-year old! I'm most happy with it! Sounds incredible-especially the neck p/u! Blues tone to die for!

I know the '70's models get reefed on a bit, but this is a stunner! Must have been made on a wednesday!

She sounds as good as she looks. The neck p/u is especially nice in sound. It is very warm, vintage, and bluesy in tone. The bridge p/u is a bit tame IMO, but I have made no adjustments yet. I'll tweak it a bit to get a bit more sound out of her.

All in all, a really great sounding guitar. :dude:

Did it come in a Protector case? Got a shot of the headstock?

Excellent, thanks! I knew it was May of '78, but not the day!

It did come with the Protector case. Probably the best case I've ever handled. I think you could slap an address label on it and ship it as-is!

I don't have the front of the headstock, but I do have a shot of the case. I'll add the front of the headstock later. Looks the same.

Congrats!

Another DUH moment - my protector case had the white lettering too...I thought that the white paint would not be original so I removed it....which was quite easy BTW....

Stunning!

Someone should come up with an alternative name besides clownburst...... I like them, but I run off center anyway...............

Simply fabulous ... I'm such a fan of the 3 piece maple neck, 3 piece maple tops. Sound monsters.

I wouldn't call it a clownburst... the top actually looks decent.
Nice score!

Nice find! I would personally call that one clownburst, but nothing wrong with that!
