• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

This killer 1953 Gibson Les Paul goldtop was modified in the late 1950s with a gold anodized Bigsby B7 vibrato tailpiece! It's a surprisingly stable set up with the strings wrapping over top of the original bridge. This one is sold but I'll be looking for more 1950s Goldtops with Bigsbys like this one.

I was confused by the bridge set up as well before I played the guitar. The break angle is pretty steep coming out of the Bigsby, so the strings are actually held pretty stable to the top of the bridge. It's a surprisingly stable set up.
