• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Let’s see your most convincing looking reissue!

I know, I know, it’s been done before but I didn’t see any recent threads. I want to see guitars with whatever mods(plastics, historic makeovers) or stock that in the photos look like a vintage 50s Gibson. Please post whatever upgrades you have done. Obviously crazy flame tops usually don’t look quite as authentic( I know there were a handful back in the day) but I’m looking for ones that you really have to study or be told they aren’t original. I’ll start....

2018 58 (oddball completed in feb ‘19 with the 2019 specs)

Fake 58 shrunken tuners
Vintage clone TRC
Creamtone poker chip
My own hand spun Catalin switch tip
Creamtone rings
ThroBak my-102s
Faber steel bridge posts with correct spec brass thumbwheels
Mojo vintage taper pots
Nos black beauty.01 caps

Nice guitar. Question about the "Feb 2019 with 2019 specs" thing. I have a 2018 R9 and the final checklist that came with it is signed and dated Feb 15, 2019. I wasn't aware that guitars that are technically 2018 model year but completed in 2019 might have different specs. Can you elaborate on what the difference in specs are? Thanks

Wow those are killer. That’s exactly what I’m looking to see!! So to answer the question about the specs, my guitar although a 2018 was completed the following year and has the different Gibson logo but the Les Paul silkscreen seems to be from 2018. Not sure though as I can’t really tell the difference anyways. It came with unpotted custombuckers, luxe bees, and the newer pots, but has inlays that look to be somewhere between the 18 and 19 guitars. They are slightly aged but don’t seem over the top. In the specs it also says it has the carmelita top carve and neck. Were they all that way?? Also I haven’t been here in a while and forget how to post full size photos instead of those ones you have to click on...help!

My 2007 Historic refinished and relic'd by Gord Miller in Canada. Also, Gord lowered the "Gibson" logo.
