• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Let’s see your most convincing looking reissue!

I love the figuring closer to the edges. It's a somewhat wild quilt/flame but is more 50s looking in the center. 2nd picture has the original, pitted nickel hardware but replacement knobs. A previous owner also put on grovers, so I'd have to use conversion bushings to go back to vintage style. It's a custom shop classic, though (like a r0 but with short neck tenon)

here's a pic from the "all vintage" days. PAFs, lefty 1953 guard, vintae case, etc. Part of what made this look so convincing is the headstock inlay, moved to the proper location. Also, I installed a set of "Buzzy" inlays. The old-timers around here will remember them. Made from recycled celluloid, they looked old, because they were old.lefty goldie 2.jpg

that looks like the spitting image of Greenie . I mean it's a work of art and a beauty ! You have the out of phase mid position and the magnet flip right ?
Thanks man, it was a labor of love. And yes, James at Re-Wind has done a ton of research on the original pickups and wound these with NOS 50s wire to match the real deal. It has a lot of quack in the middle out of phase position. It sounds like no other Les Paul I’ve ever played. Much different from Gibson’s version of these pickups... they are very open and airy and clear but can get plenty aggressive when needed.

Nice guitar. Question about the "Feb 2019 with 2019 specs" thing. I have a 2018 R9 and the final checklist that came with it is signed and dated Feb 15, 2019. I wasn't aware that guitars that are technically 2018 model year but completed in 2019 might have different specs. Can you elaborate on what the difference in specs are? Thanks
There are no 2018/2019 specs
