• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Let the hating begin...the Anarchist has been converted!

We had to do it fellas. We tried the Glaser tailpiece and it just wasn't happening. It had been jacked with well before we went at it. It's now ready for its full glory! Joel did an unbelievably good job with it!:dude:

I love it... Guitars are meant to be played, there comes a point where that has to be accepted. You made the right move. Not even a question about it.

Ok, I'll be the first hater then:
I get the tailpiece. But why on earth convert it to PAFs?

Joel winds his own. That is what is in it now. I have a set of zebra PAFs that may get popped in there at some point.:yah

That guitar has all the cools :2cool

Eh, there's plenty of all originals in collections/museums as it is, this wasn't a one of a kind from the factory and I'm not a strict preservationist. Plus, if it wasn't for someone doing mods or repairs or finish work etc I'd likely not have been able to buy any of the older guitars I own!! Though, I guess this might fall in that category of worth more with the work done to it?

Well, I'm not a hater and never have been. I'm a lover of P-90 50's LP's though, and I'm sad to see another one bite the dust. It doesn't seem to bother most people though so I guess it's wrong to think that way. BTW, I don't think many are going to object converting it from the trapeze.

Anyway, it's a beautiful guitar :)

We had the guitar for months before we made the decision to fully convert it. The P-90s in it were unremarkable, the bridge even with the Glaser compensation mod was ok at best, finally you gotta ask yourself... ? Why do I own this ? It’s been messed with before and not mint ... suddenly the decision process becomes a no brainer. :salude

There is a big difference between putting a Floyd Rose and a bunch switches on an early Gold Top than there is to simply upgrade to functional parts
that would follow in a couple years... Now the guitar can be played and make music. I'd say the wise decision was clearly made.

Wow. Nice job boys. Such a menacing look should not be wasted and should be played on stage... something dark and fitting for this guitar's attitude.
