• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Whenever I've wanted to play a Les Paul for the last 30 plus years, this guitar gets the call. Experimenting with the camera trying to "activate" the checking patterns in the morning light, hope you enjoy the view:

Last one, not so much checking detail, I just like the pic:

Thanks all forthe kind comments.

The guitar has a LOT of wear, virtually all of it put on by the original owner. The belt buckle mark on the back of the guitar is about the size of a baseball and has actually worn some wood away. This guitar looks the same now as it did when I acquired it in 1979, except for the pickups.

Dan, the pickups are PAF's. The bridge has an impedance of 7.48 ohms and sizzles, it's borderline microphonic. I love the sound of it, super "hot" sounding. The neck is 8.41 ohms. I originally had a different PAF in the neck position and swapped for this one. I didn't really notice the difference so I just left it alone after that.

Bruce, you are welcome to check out the guitar, it would be great to meet another local LPF member.

Cheers all,

Bernie

We actually have met, Bernie, at a Bombay blues jam a year or so ago. You mentioned this beauty of yours and I've been waiting to see it ever since! I was at Butler's shop yesterday and saw something with your name on it somewhere. Small world! We'll hook up soon. Bruce
