• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I now succeeded to upload a long clip, which was recorded with my band last week, and where I play my old LP-SG. It has all original parts except the tuners (now Grover´s Kluson-like) and the nut - which today is made of mammuth ivory. The song probably needs some intro;

It starts with a mellow and fragmented tune I wrote, and the idea with the improvised part is that it should start with the soloist playing "solo", i.e. all alone. The background players then should never play "with" the soloist, who continue his own mellow path, while the band should go differently. The pic for the tune at Soundclick shows a surfer at Skagerak, the cold sea outside Gothenburg in Sweden, in wintertime. If you have experience from playing solos alone live, you probably know why I have chosen that pic for the tune.

You´re a true Grateful Dead fan. :)

One thing that strikes me is how complex the tone in the guitar is. I don´t change anything on the guitar or the amp but the sound change from very smooth and mellow, to harsh and distorted, just by different pick attack.
