I don't watch the news very often. Mainly because of stories like this one. But I am always facinated to learn what makes people tick. I think a lot of people enjoy that. Serial killers make such an odd story because they are so far from comprehension. We don't comprehend them and they don't comprehend us. It is wierd how he seems borderline moronic, but still had a strong mind. He was happy enough away from killing to not want to get caught. That is rare. Most serial killers make a mistake because they are only thinking about the killing and lose sight of the real world. He was closer to normal than most. Those are the scary ones. And how messed up do you have to be to be one of the "scary" serial killers?

It'll make an odd book, that's for sure.

The thing that really got my attention is that this guy works in the same city I live in, and many of the victim's bodies were dumped right along a bike trail that I ride quite often. That's really freaky.

Yup. I posted something along those lines last week. I was taking my kids to their piano lessons down 99, & drove by Star Lake Rd. Lots of houses there now. houses now.

That would creep me out! My dad heard a murder happening one early morning about a block away from his house. That was in 1988 and it still is known as that house.

2500 volts oughta do the trick..... don't ya think?

Ridgeway cut a plea bargain with the King County prosecutor. By admitting to all of his murders (and giving all of those families some closure), he will get life without parole instead of the death penalty. However, the plea bargain only applies to King County. If it can be proven that any of the murders happened outside of the county, he can be tried there and still receive the death penalty.

That guy is no dummy; I'm sure he's thought of that. I think we're looking at a long, drawn out investigation to buy him time that will eventually grind to a halt (ala Bundy).

Why this guy is still allowed to have a pulse is beyond me. There should be a judiciary ExpressLane for that type of fucktard.

I'm sure it will be a drawn out media circus, just like OJ Simpson and Jon Benet Ramsey. :dead:

The only reason they finally caught him after two decades is through a DNA test, which wasn't available when he was first questioned some time ago after one of the victims was seen getting into a truck like his. He was questioned and released for lack of evidence, but the detectives took a saliva swab from him. That's how he was finally nailed- a DNA test on that saliva swab linked him to some of the victims.

Ridgway commented that the task force investigators never caught him, technology did.

What this all means is that the only way to recover many of the bodies that were up until now simply missing persons, the task force needed his cooperation. They had enough evidence to cook him for some of the murders, but they were more concerned with finding as many of the bodies as possible.
