Been playing my 82 Custom tonight thru my Blackheart Little Giant head and 1-12 cab tonight. All I can say is WOW!! Man the tone you get out of this amp is incredible, and I've had many tube amps. I've had this amp for three months now and I love it. Solid, well built, all tube, class A, tone monster. All my guitars sound great, LPs, Strat, SG, etc., it handles them all flawlessly. In addition to superb tone, pick response is unbelievable. Anyone else playing their LP thru a Blackheart?

Scozz, that has got me stoked. I ordered a Little Giant yesterday, but of course, it is on backorder . . . so I must wait patiently. Glad to hear you are enjoying the Blackheart.

Did you perform any mods and/or change the tubes?

Yes, and I really enjoy it as well.
I think when you bring the Little Giant up all the way, the tone is fantastic. Love the crunch through the bridge pickup.
Playing mine through an Avatar 2x12 cab with Eminence GB128 speakers.

I bought mine , but the cab is back order.

I received the head, and played it with the speaker of my DRRI.

I love the crunch.:wail

I have to learn how to use all the possibilities of this little wonder.

I can't wait to play it through the BH cab.:bug

I love mine. Playing through two G12T100 1x12 cabs. The tone is incredible. I'm using a Tung-Sol 128X7 and the stock EL84. I've really considered trying the JJ EL84, but I had a quad of E34L's and hated them. I may have to pick up the little BH extension cab if I have a job next week. :dang

Great little amp for the price. I run mine through a 2x12 Avatar cab with Hellatone 60s in it. The Les Pauls sound awesome through it. A tube change to JJs really improved things even more.

I'm glad I got mine when I did. Mine was $150, right after that they went up to $180, now I see that AMS has them for $200 (in stock btw). The price just keeps creeping up.

I suppose 2 bills still ain't bad considering the quality.
I think I got mine for 179 at MF.
They have them in stock right now.
That might be the limit on the price for a Chinese made 5 watt head, though. Or at least help keep them in stock..
FWIW, I like mine best with a tung sol reissue 12ax7 and a JJ EL84.
I think I might try putting a Box of Rock in front of it. Funny the retail price of that pedal is also 200 now. :)

i started to buy one when it was at 150.00, but a guy talked me out of it..he keep going on and on about terrible workmanship and how it will not last..now i'm kicking myself..i was back in that store not long ago and he was telling me how good of a amp it is, and how they have to keep raising the price to slow demand to fill back orders...

Huh, I wonder what made him say that.
Flipping thing feels built like a tank to me.
Here's the guts:

I love mine, and after experimenting with many tubes, I too have settled on the Tung Sol 12AX7 and a JJ EL84, although I had some random Ei EL84 that sounded pretty sweet in it. As good as it sounds, I am jonesin for the Mercury Magnetics iron and also wishing the Mojo board didn't have a tube rectifier so it would be easy to incorporate the two mods.

Greetings Jover,

No, I've left mine stock for now. It sounds great as is! I thought I'd play it stock for a while to get a feel for it before changing anything. I'm still on the fence about changing out the tubes, because this is the tone I've been looking for. I know alot of guys change out the tubes in these amps, but for me the stock tubes give me the sound I want, (maybe someday).

Did you get your Blackheart yet? If so, how do you like it?

It is funny you posted this Scozz. I just unpacked the head ten minutes ago; however, the cabinet has not arrived. It is my understanding that I will receive it tomorrow.

Oasis, how does the Little Giant sound with two speaker cabinets?

It actually blew me out of my living room, so I have it for sale!

True story. Nothing wrong with the tone, particularly with the triple bypass mod. With the 5w setting, it gets incredibly loud!

If only I had that basement Rec Room...

Bummer, man. Are you really selling your BH stack?
It's a loud 5 watts for sure, but I've dimed it in my house before. Do you have unfriendly neighbors? :)

Did the second cab with the Little Giant make the sound bigger moreso than just louder?
