• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I have not had a Gibson solid body for decades and am not trying to be snarky but interested in your opinions.

I wanted a "budget" Les Paul and picked this up like new for $720 with HSC a few weeks ago. She looks to be all original and I was told it was a 2019 Special (but is it?)

Flat slab single cut body
Unbound fat 50s neck
Uncovered zebra burst buckers 2&3 (I was told)
TOM bridge and stop bar

Plays and sounds good and gives me that dose of Gibson that I wanted.

It looks like all the distinctive features of a given LP model are blurred sort of like a Fender FSR. I'm thinking LP Studio trapped in the body of a Special. What do you think - is she a LP Special, Studio, or "Limited Edition" Red Headed Stepchild.

If it is a Special, then you got it for a lot cheaper than this guy is selling...

Well, the original (55-58) single-cutaway LP special had a wraparound bridge, P90 pickups, simpler tuners, and a TV yellow finish. Otherwise, it looks close.

Not a Studio. Studio's have carved tops.

Congrats! It looks like my 2007 Special Faded Cherry, except for the pickguard, pickups and glossy finish. I just bought mine in almost new condition for $750 w/ case.

Those are great guitars. Think Special with Standard hardware. Cherry finish mahogany just makes my big toe shoot up in my boot!! You made an excellent find. Play the snot out of it.
