• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So my newest addition, a Bourbon Burst R8 comes in at 8.6lbs. Just thought I would add that to the list.

My weight relieved 2010 LP Custom weighs 10lbs 2oz.
My non-weight relieved 2020 LP '57RI weighs 8lbs 6oz.

The Custom is a boat anchor and it feels like it will break any stand that I put it on whereas my goldtop is really light. Only 28oz difference between them but it seems like a ton when you pick them up.

It’s amazing how so little weight can be so noticeable. I remember picking up the R8 in the store for the first time. I sensed right away that it was lighter. I even thought that maybe it was my imagination, how could I tell the difference instantly? But sure enough, it was.
Oh, and I must add that I exchanged the R8 for another. The new one is 8.8lbs.

My '71 LP Custom is a very comfortable 9 lb 12 oz. It still feels pretty heavy compared to most of my guitars so those 11-12 pounders that some of you have must really feel like a boat anchor around your neck.
