• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hello,
This may sound crazy but does anyone know of a luthier that could build me a 59' replica?? I've never been a fan of the Gibson quality control. Also I'm sure that I could get a handmade spec'd out 59' for around the same price of a CNC'd 59' reissue!
Thanks!!!

I'm sure someone could tell you off the board. I don't think it would be wise to publish names on the board, Gibson would be after their ass in 2 seconds.

Any replica that is better and closer than a Historic is going to cost you a significant amount more than the Historic would. unless the builder is selling himself short.

Thanks for your interest in my topic. Well I decided that I would try and go Gibson's way through the custom shop. I spoke to Paul at Huberbreese music and we discussed a les paul similar to a 59' but with some extra's
1. Black Korina body & neck
2. Brazillian fingerboard
3. Abalone trapezoid inlays
4. Chrome hdwr.
5. Darkburst (more red and purple)
I am an admitted "GO BIG OR GO HOME" kind of guy and prefer a PRS type Top vs. R9's. I have only seen a handful of tops on R9's that I actually would even consider buying. When I talked to Paul he said they are going to make 50 R9's w/aging & Brazillian boards selling for around $9500. DAMN!!!!!!!! My quest for a R9 continues!
