• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

several years after I got to meet Principal Skinner in person at Arlington, I got to hold Magellan in all its glory tonight at the Baked Potato in North Hollywood. Joe was kind enough to share some details (double-creams, bridge PAF cover unmolested, recent refret, but pristine in every other way), and also gave me a rundown of his current 'Burst and PAF GT "inventory". He was also the photographer of this shot.

Thanks, Joe - a memorable experience!

Great shot thanks it sharing.

Plain tops bursts are my 'holy grail', something about them just accentuate the curves of a Paul! This one is one of my favourites!

Btw, how is the neck on that one?

On the subject of Magellan, I remember te first time I saw this clip I must have been as excited as Joe..

Wonderful tone !

...If only I knew as I was in Hollywood yesterday for the first time. Epic fail !

if you are still here, then you may have another chance tonight - Joe is playing with Rock Candy Funk Party at the Baked Potato. Of course, there's no predicting which guitars he will bring. He told me last that he has a few to choose from ;-)

Werner, I did not realize that was you, or I would have introduced myself. It was a great show, and Joe was on fire. I'd never seen / heard him play with a band live in person before, and I was extremely impressed ... and I don't impress easily. I loved hearing him in the element of RCFP, maybe even more so that the rock and blues stuff. But then again, Blow By Blow changed my life, and anything related to that gives tends to give me wood.

Bummer, where were you sitting? I was in the second row during the first set, but then I joined my friend and guitar heroine Nili Brosh when she came in.

Would have loved to meet you - I thought you were an East Coast guy?

Great to meet you and always happy to share the geekdom of Nerdville... Just wrapped the three night stand literally an hour ago.. The Baked Potato is a live music gem that is so unique in this world unfortunately... These type of places are slowly going away.. Its important to support them in every way as an artist and as a fan. Its the farm system for new acts and the place to go let loose and just play for the sheer joy of it.. No suit and sunglasses allowed! :2cool

PS... JJ how is your "Scatterbrain" coming along? Love that song!!

Plan to visit the Bay Area in a few months looks like I should have planned the trip earlier. In Joe's hands that guitar sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing!
