• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

My guess is there are no serial numbers on your amp. My Magnatone M13 has no serial numbers, so I'm thinking that's a Magnatone "feature".

I'm excited to read all the good words on these as I'm setting out on a road trip this morning to make a trade for a 1960 260. Can't wait to hear it's vibrato. This one will need a recovering. Anyone know where to find the most authentic looking tolex for this era magnatone?

Made the trip over to STL to collect my new 260. Runs quiet, with killer cleans and mind numbing vibrato! ALL BUGLE BOYS in this amp!!! Didn't even make it out of town with the cabinet! Ran into Gregg Hopkins, so Left it with him for a full cabinet restoration. Gregg took me across the street where I enjoyed a full tour of the current Magnatone facility. All in all, a Magnatone day.:dude:

please forgive my confusion and ignorance. Am I understanding that you bought a vintage magnatone, you happen to live close to where new ones are being made, so you took it over there and they are going to restore it for you?

I'm curious how the new ones sound. I know Billy G has a model, but that doesn't guaranty anything...

No, Gregg Hopkins' shop is across the street from the Magnatone facility. Gregg is doing the work for me.

Although I didn't get to play through the range of new Magnatones, I was quite impressed with what I saw at their facility. Some really nice folks doing some cool stuff there! May have to check out a new one as well.
