Brought out the OCD Ver 1 and the Fatboost........Kills with the Marshall. The BOR sounds better with the Germino Club 40 and the old Tweed's and the lil' Blackface Princeton w/Brownface circuit. Will have to record with the OCD and see what it sounds like.......Thanks to all for the kind words about the amp!!!!:jim

far too much top end for my liking mate. A bit too fizzy for me.
As long as you are happy with it though that's what counts

Well new amp and speakers not broke in yet. Also the OCD sounds better. I agree with the fizzy. Also my first recording ever! Will take time to get used to everything and get it down on MP3, Thanks!
Also I live in a Condo......I guess I could just run both channels on 7 to 8 and use no effects...........That's when it sounds the best.

You know I was thinking....would you put your first recording ever on the LP forum???? Maybe my mike placement is not right.....I just got the Marshall, new speakers and all new recording equipment and it's to Fizzy for you. Well maybe your right. the OCD Kills thru this thing. And also on Y cord Vol 1 on 7 and Vol 2 on 8 now were talking. But I would like to hear your first recording ever......or as Johnny Carson would say may a thousand fleas from a camel infest your breakfest!......:salude ....:welcome

Keep at it ptrick, you'll get there. You just need some time to learn your setup. Like you said, it's your first time.

And trust me it can be much worse. I paid a "real" engineer a lot of money (for a poor college student) to record my first band in a "real" studio with about the same results, except with thin drum tracks and a woofy bass. We ended up using a rehearsal tape made with a $100 sansui cassette deck for club auditions.

Don't get upset at me because I didn't like your sound.
Note I didn't say it was "bad" I just said too fizzy for my taste.

If you are entirley happy with it then great, go fish! But you are rabidly defending it, so if it doesn't sound right to you then there are plenty people on here (myself included) who will help you get to that sound you want completley free of charge.

So instead of getting overly defensive and insulting me have a listen to it with fresh ears.
Ask "is this what I want to sound like"
If so then great job done

If not then pick a couple of tones you like and either play about yourself or lean on the experience of people with many many hours of recording experience who are willing to give their time for no obvious reward to help you get where you want to go.

I'm not posting my first (or indeed any) of my recordings on here for validation as I don't need it. I'm happy with the sound I have. It's not to everyones taste but hey that's Gods way of getting ugly people laid.

If you are interested in my recording go to www.300ftgorilla.com which I co-produced or www.rain-king.co.uk and have a listen to some of the demos on there (cider is probably the more guitar oriented track just now)

If you want feedback and help in improving your tone then feel free to ask. Be aware though, people do you no favours by lying to you.

If you read my first post I agreed with you the BOR does sound fizzy. The amp by itself is great. The OCD Ver 1 sounds Killer thru it. So I just put that out there as a post and Thanked YOU for your feedback if you reread the post. I just wanted to hear first recordings. Also I'am using 250.00 worth of recording equipment to get that sound.:salude
Not trying to start an argument.......There is enough of that on hear already. It's alot better now than it use to be. But then again I've not seen there posts lately. I Salute your Honesty...........

Since it is a tribute to Iommi, its fitting that it would be fizzy.........ever hear his tone? Although it is a bit bright. Iommi is a darker player, but VERY overdriven.

Since we're critiquing here (hey, you posted it), I thought that sounded pretty crappy myself. Vocals way over the mix, bass too boomy. The whole thing sounded squashed and mushy. But hey, if you like it, then thats cool.:applaude

Try going to Reaper.com and listen to some of the very pro sounding recordings on there................all on free (or $50 if your honest) recording software. They can help you out with nothing to gain for themselves. :bike

I agree it sounded pretty good...perhaps a bit too much gain but it's a freakin Marshall that looks and sounds great. Don't worry about some on here...

Ive been dealing with back issues lately that has affected my playing time these days...IT SUCKS.

I hope you're on the mend

Born with some of it and worked my ass off most of my life that I can remember. I was born in the early 50's and grew up in the 60's if that'll tell you anything. I had 7 back fusions done on 1-18-08. All 5 lower lumber discs were gone and they have to do a couple good one's or it will break where the lumbar and thoratic meet. I had the 2 best doc's do it one was a orthopedic fellowship spine specialist and the other was the neurosurgeon. 7 hours on the table...no words to describe what it was like. But I rolled the dice and it worked. They got rid of all the old pain and I'am almost done with the new pain.I researched and got the best to do it. No Messing Around there......Thanks for asking. Also nice tone on the blue's playing. I'am back to practicing more again. That 72' PTP Marshall is a Kick in the Ass!!!! I was back to work in just over 3 mo. If I had a job that someone could take my place and new what they were doing I would have taken at least 6 mo off.

I've got reaper but the Audacity seemed easier at the time...I was in the mode...full of coffee.....trying to figure out wear to place the e609 mic.....and get the ArtStudio and M Audio going. Later pulled out the OCD Ver 1 with the fatboost. Sounds alot better thru the Marshall, Thanks!!! Will practice and do somemore:salude

I saw BlackSabbath the first time they played at the Winterland in SF. 3 Laney Stacks apiece. Geezer was playing one of those Dan Armstrong plexi glass bass's and Iommi was using his 64' SG. I do believe there was a little distortion and fizz in the mix.....Ozzy had a very cool white American flag leather jacket with tassels to the floor almost. Edger Winter and White Trash played 2nd billing and Rick Derringer had a red 335 and 2 V4 stacks with a black sleveless t-shirt and a giant neck cross...I bet they were all on the side of the stage when BlackSabbath opened with NIB.........Blew the F$%king Doors off the place. They should be the Hall of Fame for heavy rock. And blue's for stevie would appreciate Iommi's blue's influence. Alot of the crap from these bands a few years back they have no soul or where it all started......:note :salude :note

That's right i've seen them many times and it is a compliment to say a band live sounds like the album. Very few can do that. Bad Co was one of those too.
