• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Recently I played a Marshall DSL-201, a 20 watt, 2 EL-84 1x12 combo from 2001. Two switchable channels (normal and overdrive), with spring reverb (not great). I'm usually not into master volume type amps, but this one got a pretty good Cream era Clapton sound.
I might pick it up (<$400).

I think the amp is definitely worth the money. I picked up mine many years ago (01?) at GC for under 400 as it was a floor model. True, the reverb is not great, and neither is the speaker. I swapped mine for a 30 watt Hellatone, and it made a huge difference. Another think to consider; the tube slots in the chassis are somewhat small and will not fit certain EL-84's without being modified (I am certain the Electro Harmonix tubes wont fit). Other than that, the amp has served me well and has a surprisingly nice clean channel.
