anyone running a Marshall into a Fender D130 (Dual Showman) 2x15 cab?

I've been looking for a bit of a different tone, tonight I tried my 4010 combo (JCM800 2204 head) into an old Dual Showman JBL tall cab I've had since about '70.

At first blush I quite like it. I think it's cleaner and warmer than Celestions. I think I'll make a cab for the head out of the combo and run with this for awhile.

Can you imagine a 4x15 cab with JBLs? I know Marshall made 4x15 at one point. I think Deep Purple's backline had one or two of them, but I can't tell if they were for the keyboards or the bass. I would not want to move that cab by myself.

Marshall into JBL D120/Cerwin Vega ER123 is often considered a formula for Duane's tone. I was hoping to build a 2x12 cab with D120s, but it never happened.

heck, my bass player was whining about hauling around THIS cab ("but, it's going to take 2 guys" :wah ), I can't imagine a 4x15.

of course, I DO make them haul a Hammond around. Stairs suck.

On his first tour of the US (backing King Crimson) Robin played two Marshalls into two Dual Showman cabs. It was a sweet sound and I don't think he ever sounded better. I saw that tour and I also saw him a few weeks ago at the HOB in Chicago. While the standard Marshall setup he uses is fine, there was a roundness in the sound that was missing in comparison to the Dual Showmans. Wish he would go back.
