The second thing to go is your mind they say- so i cannot remember if I have posted this before.
I had a pretty good solo road trip on Father's Day and pulled up Bursting Out- i am certain i have brought this up before.
Barre's tone and playing is just monstrous on that album. Speed way before that kind of fast was fashionable (ala pre Van Halen). Melodic- in and out of the mix- dynamic as hell.
And the extended jams are killah.
What was his rig? I know he had a burst and the pics I have seen live (albeit much earlier- say 72 or so) were with a LP Jr.
Anyway- this is a good un.

Lot's of great tone and guitar playing on all the Tull albums he's on. Especially the deeper cuts.

I believe on the Bursting Out live lp he was using his black Hamer..Martin is one of those guys that sound great no matter what’s in his hands

I believe he used an SG (LP?) to record Minstrel In The Gallery (it sounds like one too, really ballsy) which was 1975, after that I think he went with the Hamers. I've seen him with a sunburst Sunburst and a black Sunburst. He also advertised for Hamer (this was for sale on Reverb at one time)
