• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Gibson? No way. It's an Japanese guitar. Gibson is American.

Er... I'd have thought that being made by the Custom Shop is a clue to it being an American guitar! :)

those horns look vaguely Rickenbacker-ish...

what's the deal with the big red 'pillow' on the back? Maybe Gretsch can sue them for THAT?

There are no guitars made in Japan with Gibson on the headstock. Those are called Epiphone Elite. :)

Hey, it's a 22 fret DC -- I'm interested. I think the three knob setup could work for me too. The only thing I don't like (besides the quilt top -- just a gold top would suit me) is the upper horn -- it's too heavy metal-ish, not enough classic Paul-ish. I wish they'd do a 22 fretter with the horns exactly like on the Les Paul DC (and no tone chambers inside). Regular trapazoid inlays would be cooler too. Oh well, maybe I'll have to become a big guitar hero in a major market to get it done. Kudos to Tak for getting them to build a 22 fret DC though.

I actually think that guitar is cool. I'm with dmt - gimme a 22-fret DC. That guitar is probably as close as I'd ever get. Wonder how I'd get my hands on one?

I kinda like it. I think it looks better with creme rings & things, maybe skip the pickup selector ring, but it's fairly modern looking for a Gibson. Does look suspiciously like a Baker tho. I approve!

I like the blue one but would prefer black pickups and agree with ditching the pickup selector ring.

When I first saw that a couple months back, I didn't like it..

Now it's really growing on me. It would be a great 2nd guitar to an LP.
