Nope, they’re repros of the ‘58 burst on the cover of Ya-Ya’s.Isnt this the 'burst with an amazing history to it ? I could have this all wrong, but If Im right it could perhaps be the first sunburst Les Paul in the UK, brought over by Kieth Richards with a b7 Bigsby attached. A young Yardbirds era Jimmy Page was photographed recording with it at Olympic, and later Eric Clapton used it briefly after his own 'burst was stolen, still with the Bigsby attached.
Im just guessing that ownership may have remained with Kieth Richards during this period and would explain how Mick Taylor came to be using it with the Stones (Bigsby removed).
This is my personal speculation btw and should be regarded as such.
Got 'em installed & setup - they sound great, everything I expected. It was a surprise how close (balanced) they are- didn't have to raise the bridge as much as I thought I would.I'm glad you posted this; I just ordered a set of these! I've changed pups in my BB Std twice & still haven't gotten the sound that I know can come from it. I'll post an update when I get 'em installed but right now I'm stoked...
