• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

All the "upgrades" i wanted are now done, so it's time to show you my beloved '58 reissue.

Made in 2004, washed cherry finish, i own it since 2006. I originally wanted a Goldtop, but at this time Custom Shop were very hard to find here in France, so i went for a sunburst :

I had the opportunity to compare it along some other Historic (r7/r8/r9) ... I think i found a really good one.

When i discovered this forum, i thought a lot of you were just nut to do so much change on your guitars (pickups, plastics).
But it finally hits me too.
All the parts are now replaced :
- Seymour Duncan "Antiquity" pickups
- OTP "Over The Pond" M69 PAF Humbucker surrounds
- Dr. Vintage / CTS pots with Luxe repro "bumble bees" caps
- Pigtail : APR1 zinc/nickel bridge
- MojoAxe pickguard
- Montreux : jackplate, r/t ring, top hat knobs
- Retrospec : truss rod cover, knurled switch nut, thin ABR wheels, steel tailpiece studs, toggle switch tip
- DMC : pointers, tailpiece, pickguard bracket
- vintage "pat pend" Grover tuners

The guitar sounds better than ever, and looks killer to me :

So thanks to everyone here for sharing so much infos :peace2

thats a beauty, and nice upgrades. i love my r8 and have replaced the pups and electronics and now i need some white pickup rings but cant afford the OTP rings. oh well, not all the plastic on some original burst matched perfectly either.

your guitar looks great, and enjoy. i too play through a silverface fender at times.
