I was at Wildwood Guitars this weekend. It was the second time that Steve Mesple, the owner of Wildwood, has played my '58 Burst. For those of you who know Steve, he's got a lot of vintage guitars and amps in his personal collection and is a mondo geetar player. His quote was,

"This is THE FINEST guitar I have ever played. Incredible 3D tone, bloom that sustains for days, the most inspiring and inspired guitar I have ever had the pleasure of playing. -Steve"

I was honored to have Steve play this guitar. High praise from a guy who knows tone! Thought I'd share with you. :hank

P.S. In the second photo, my '55 Goldtop is on the stand next to Steve. He liked that one also. :)

Very cool Mike! Steve is such a great guy too! A friend of mine who's a Fender/Gretsch rep, Jeff Bowen introduced me to Steve a number of years back at NAMM.

Mike ...do you feel this is THE FINEST guitar that you've owned/played ?

Gary, it's pretty special. I am also enamored with my '59 Burst. It has a bit brighter sound. The '58 is more "in your face" when you want it to be, but also cleans up well. :hank

Beautiful guitar!

How can you take that out of the vault without having a heart attack? ;-)
