• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

my favorite r9 extrapolation. killer top content.

those who know me know that i'm a korina fiend. not surprisingly, my favorite iteration of the r9 series was the brief run of 2008 korina/western maple joints. huge necks, light weight *solid* bodies. extremely resonant and and absolute joy to play.

been looking for one for years, after selling 2 back in late 2008. finally found this.

Matte, you might remember I was on the hunt for a Korina Jr. I finally found one and it weighed 10lbs!!! Personally as far as those Korina Les Paul Standards go, NATURAL is the only way they should be and they fit my tastes and sensibilities bang on the head!! That is one BEAUTIFUL LES PAUL!!!!:salude:salude

hi big al! thanks for the good word. you are always in my thoughts and prayers.

this magnificent specimen clocks in at under 8 & a half pounds. it's such a pleasure to play and really splits the sonic difference between an explorer and a les paul perfectly. the madagascar rw board gives up nothing in feel to brazilian either. gibson took their time with this and it shows. flawless construction and top shelf materials.

I have seen and played a few of those and they all were light weight and just superb. I imagine you are making that beauty howl with a mighty voice, even if it has only 6 strings!:laugh2:

I was happy and proud for you when I saw that magazine article. Good on you, Brother, and thank you for the prayers.:hank

That is best served with ice cream and maple syrup:spabout

I have always thought that a North American Walnut body/neck with a Figured Maple top would be a very cool Les Paul, even with a Birdsye neck, flame maple top and figured Walnut body,… oh my, that would make me moist.

Absolutely amazing! Congrats :salude

I'm a sucker for natural, figured tops. The korina is icing on the cake.

I've only seen one other korina LP.
I built one in December '82. It had a one piece quilted top,
and was built with gold hardware.

Thanks for sharing!
