I had purchased a used Ovation Celebrity and felt that the action was too high and the shape and slipperiness of the back was an issue. First I added Schaller strap locks on the guitar. I then took my nut slotting files and deepened the nut and slotted the bridge saddle. Knowing that I was going to use D'Addario 10s, I drilled 6 holes in a brass cylinder. (Tone enhancer/compensator) I threaded the strings first through the brass cylinder then the bridge. I then added lines of silicone on the back and bottom of the guitar to prevent slipping while on my lap or shifting when I stand while playing. Works beautifully. The Ovation plays as smooth as my Les Paul guitars.
