• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hey a JB Studio Gold Top!!

But, alas, excitement turns to disappointment upon closer inspection.....

Can you see the blemish, looks like a dimple almost centered below tail stock.
Also, can you see the white hazing on the back?

Oh well, it's all packed up (i'm pretty sure you don't need to see a pic of that), and ready to go back for exchange. Next batch arriving late June. I'm a little surprised this got past QC. I wouldn't mind the back, but the top just glares at you.

Love the black pickguard on a goldtop. You know what else looks cool? Gold colored pot/switch covers on the back.

Thanks Doc. Yes, great contrast. It's a shame I have to send it back. Hopefully next batch will be in better shape. Oh, and thanks, I am new around here, and appreciate the response.
Here's a couple of pics of my Epi Anniversary V3, and an Eric Johnson Strat. (while I had the camera out)
My '60 GO VOS Plain top is in the shop for a set up. I should be picking it up this weekend, I'll post pics.

I t would also be terrific if anybody here familiar with the build process, could venture a guess, explaining the white lacing or hazing on the back, or even the dimple. I know very little about these guitars, except the joy to play 'em.

You can buff it out.

You guys are a riot !:rofl I already have the replacement. Just asked if they would have a good look at it before shipping this one. Took it to the fellow who does all me set ups. He had to level a couple of frets, (no major surgery) and file a couple of corners, adjust the action a bit, Voila! (I think that's how you spell it) now, it plays and sounds great. (only put it down to play the G0) I've been lazy and the weather 's been crappy, Was waiting for a nice sunny day to take some pics.
