• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

We were having a discussion of resonator guitars over in the Backstage Area, so I wanted to put up a sound clip. This is an edit of a piece I did a few years ago on a late '20's National duolian. The tuning is G.

Very cool as always GuitarG. I'm just starting to learn to use the slide, a few guys are getting together on IRC and learning a song a week, this week is Statesboro Blues. So far so good.

I've been playing Statesboro for 30 years and I'm still trying to get it right. ;)

GuitarG, great clip. :yay

When you say the tuning is G, is that GBDGBD or DGDGBD? I've seen both referred to as G tuning.

That is DGDGBD which I call Blues G. GBDGBD is what I call Dobro G. A lot of the country Dobro players use this tuning but I always go for the blues tuning.

Wanted to hear it--but I guess the link is old, too bad...Still got your late 20s Duolian? Sure love to see a pic if you got one around. I am thinking of getting a '33 12fret Duolian with a Duco finish and any info you have about a model like this would be very helpful. Thanks!
