• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

No, I don't have the instrument to measure the resistance.

fwiw, a simple multimeter is a handy thing to have around. One can check the impedance of a speaker load. One can check for continuity an instrument or speaker cable. One can check a pickup or any aspect of the guitar’s electronics. For this type of simple work, one can spend $10 or a little more and have a handy tool. One can also check for the presence of voltage where it should not be on stage….this could save a life. The other thing an electric guitarist should have is a wall outlet tester. Imho, one should never plug into an unknown outlet without having first checked to see if the outlet is properly wired. This also could save a life…for less than $10.
