• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

"Very" nice Fornax. I have a 2011 R9 as well that has a top that I'm "fairly sure" came from the same piece of maple....:hmm :salude

Wow, Mark strikes again - that one's a beauty. Not bad for your first Les Paul! What made you splurge on a Les Paul after all the years playing Strats? Probably hanging around here too much I imagine. Anyway, :salude and let us know how you bond.

I always like the LP tone and playability, but nice ones were out of reach. I considered getting one in the early nineties, and checked out a few off-the-wall Standards at Manny's in NYC. Man, was I disappointed with the quality and playability - the thing couldn't stay even close to being in tune. With the rise of the Custom Shop, though, things have really turned around. When I got a nice unexpected windfall, I knew it was now or never. Best splurge I've ever made!

Thank you. How are you doing...?

I'll get by. Got a '55 Exclusive Goldtop, with 'buckers/ABR/Stoptail a few days back. Nice guitar, but the nicle was so damned shiny that som 'acid' was necessary.

The one with the Tone-pros and the special neck carve? If so, how's the neck? I'm sure you were happy to supply the 'acid'....

Fornax, please excuse the hi-jack....

Nice guitar, RUFFCUT!

Your axe's top might be from the same tree felled by the same axe as mine! ; )
